How to choose accessories

Lip grips and pliers
A lip grip lets you hold toothy fish like snakehead safely without touching their teeth and fins. Pliers remove hooks and open split rings. Choose corrosion-resistant materials, since they are always exposed to water.

Hooks, split rings, and snaps
Replace hooks that are dull, bent, or rusty — sharp hooks improve your hook-up rate. Match the size of split rings and snaps to your leader strength and lure size.

Choose a tackle box with adjustable dividers to sort lures by type, in a size compact enough for a small boat.

Which accessories should I bring when casting?
At minimum a lip grip, pliers, spare leader and snaps, and a small tackle box of lures. For a full-day trip, bring a coolbox too if you want to take fish home.
Why do I need a lip grip?
A lip grip lets you hold fish with sharp teeth and fins, like snakehead, safely — without hurting your hands or the fish.
When should lure hooks be replaced?
When they are dull, bent, or rusty. Sharp hooks make it easier for the fish to get hooked when it strikes.
What does a snap do on a lure?
A snap makes it easy to change lures without retying your line, and lets some lures move more freely.
Can I see the accessories in person before buying?
Yes. Drop by our basecamp in West Bogor, daily 07:00–21:00 (WIB). Message us on WhatsApp first so we can have them ready.
